I recently recieved a nice reply from Bob Murray of Thunder Header. the transcript is below:

Hi Bob,

Just doing a little research. Do you have, or have you made a slip-on muffler or a complete system for the KTM LC4 series?

Thanks for any info you can provide,
Creeper

Creeper, thanks for your interest. As of this time I have not made a system for the LC4. I have had some interest in systems for the adventure model but have not been able to secure one for a prototype. Which bike were you interested in? If I know the specific model I can track one down and build a system.
Thanks,
Bob

So, there you go,
Creeper

thats weird. I know I've seen a pic somewere of a thunder "muffler at least" put on an Lc4. maybe at KTMTalk. but he does make full systems for the 525/450 rfs.

hy I like my stock one because its quiet and I get killer fuel mileage which comes in handy on those long/I think im lost mountain roads but anyway ktm makes great slip on and the price is getting better after my rally fender (if it ever gets here )im going to consider the akrapovic that's what they use in the Dakar so its got to be good ...Dan

Is it possible to get exhausts like the 660 ralle uses? They look awsome, dont know how practical they would be.

It is possible, but there are a few things to watch out for:

- the 660 rallye exhaust goes at the side of the frame, since the protection made of carbon/kevlar covers the exhausts (the 640 Adventure doesn't have this so this makes it a weak point)
- The 660 rallye exhaust is quite loud from what I've heard (not 'nice loud' but 'LOUD' :)
- It's BLOODY expensive: nearly 2000 euros!

On the other hand you get a well manufactured exhaust system with excellent finish!

The intent of this thread was to create a list of all the manufacturers, distributors, shops etc. and the web links for all the LC4 exhausts discussed in this thread. These links are what I and others that participated could find, not nessecarily the best, cheapest or quickest... just links.

It was my intent to provide an objective listing of everything that was currently available, I happen to have a Supertrapp IDS2 with the "quiet core", but that doesn't mean I think everybody should run one.

My only request is when you are considering a muffler or complete system, try to go for 96db or less. Lets stop handing the special intrest groups that control our land any additional "silver platered" excuses to restrict it from our OHV use.

And now in no particular order "The List"

Creeper,

Good threads should be exhumed.

Plus I thought that the KTM SXC exhaust should be added to this list.
