2 Days of Camping, Hiking & Riding in BC and WA - All pics no BS

What do you do with a cold weekend in BC? Take the bikes out for a camping trip no doubt.

Cultus Lake, BC - The DRZ400S is mine and the Ninja 600 belongs to my friend Jesse.

The weather was fairly cool for camping but decided to brave it anyway. This is the view from Teapot Hill. The weather was like this for most of the weekend.

I hate that I had to use the flash, but I didn't have a tripod and my friends were a bit impatient otherwise I would have found something to set the camera on.

We hiked down the other side of Teapot Hill to find that it's known as Cabin 7 mountain from that side.

The moss in the area is amazing.

Jesse and his moss-hammock.

We were hiking most randomly and came across a river which seemed to sprout from the moss.

We could see a road a one point so we decided to get out of the woods since we really didn't know exactly where we were. These guys were milling along the road.

After doing a little orienteering we found out where we were and started the long walk back to the lake. Luckily we ran across a winery along the way.

Ahhhhh.... back at the lake.

We packed up the next morning and headed for Mount Baker, WA.
This is The North Fork Wedding Chapel/Beer Shrine along Mt. Baker Highway

How would you like to be 5 feet from a bear, riding with one hand and shooting on continuous?

Behind the clouds lies Mt. Baker glacier.

Nooksack Falls

The bikes - DRZ400S, DR650, 600R, V-Strom

Yes, must have been a DSLR and not a typical cheap Point and Shoot.

It was a Nikon D40 with the 18-55mm Nikkor lens. It's about my fifth day shooting with a DSLR so I still have a ton to learn.

Very nice. Is this with a flash or ambient light?

It was with the flash. I hate the flash but in this case I didn't have much of a choice.

Thanks! I'm planning on a few more trips this summer. I might try to make it to the Yukon in July.
