Super Cool!

I really like what people are doing with small bikes to make them go farther. If I can get rid of some of my others a 250 or so may be in my future.

Thanks everyone!

Wendell,

It took me a long time to get to the point where I've learned to slow down and look around me which I guess is appropriate because now it takes me a long time to get just about anywhere. The little bikes are sure fun, I would like to get a bigger bike some day but I won't be getting rid of the TW to do it.

thanks,

Todd

Sorry I missed this earlier. Nice rig!

Your trip to Alaska is an inspiration.

Thanks EC. After I took these pics and went on a ride I ended up having to weld a brace from the bottom of the rack to the pillion mount on each side to lend support to the rear end of the bike. I'm currently spending too many hours trying to map a mostly dirt route from Kanab to northern MI and back again for next summer, the TW is getting restless. I should hit UT, CO, KS, MS, IA, IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, ND, SD, NB, WY, and back to UT if I can figure out a route. Looking at 12-14 days on the road plus a week or so lay-over in northern MI. Approx. 5000 miles or so.

thanks again,

Todd

GREAT JOB - also there is a great tw200 shield offered on newenough if the lil shield you got doesn't cut it. I'm waiting another month or so before spending that much coin though.

The rack is 18 gauge square steel and I'm guessing between 10 and 12 lbs (but I never weighed it). After these pic of the rack on the bike were taken I added support on both sides that runs to the pillion mounts. This effectively strengthened the rear frame dramatically. I think I can put about as much as I can fit on her now.

thanks,

Todd

I've been riding it around since last year with the smaller windshield and it's pretty good...........compared to none. The shield at newenough wasn't available when I bought the one I have but it looks like it would work great.

take care,

Todd

TW's are such fun! My brother used to have one... I'll have to show him this. He'll probably want another! (He has an '87 Transalp now)
