Arg! I was out bopping around on some access roads here in town (nice powerline/railroad access near the corner of Clyde Park and Burton) and a good spot up by Rockford. Not big, but good for technique.

How were the trails around gun lake and yankee springs? It's pretty close to me, I might have to ride down there and find out, but I'm not looking for full knobby type trails, more like anakee types.

Email me if you are looking for somebody!

West Mi V-strom and CRF250x rider here located in Muskegon. Paved, dirt, 2-track, single track....I ride it all but my 1st love is the tight and nasty single track.

They were terrific. Perfect for me, since I am new. There are a bunch of trails, two tracks that come right off the road. Some on maps, some not.

Might be back down that way on the 13th. PM if you are interested in going.

I've found an access road on Googlemaps near the corner of Hannah Lake and 68th street on the south east side of Grand Rapids that looks like it goes right down into yankee springs. I'm going to check that today, see what I can find

Suck. That access road, well... it's a nice two track, about ATV width, very straight, decent grade, well maintained with no mudholes, etc.

Problem.

After you get through the first two legs headed south, you get a sign. No motor vehicles. Underneith it said 'this means you Quelish.' So I went to yankee springs where my love and affection for sand grew. Even more.

No pics of the trail, it sucks since it's closed off, but it looks like barring that, it goes for 10-15 miles easy.

Anybody looking to meet up to fart around Yankee Springs for a while this weekend?

Anyone else interested?

Cool. My family lived outside of Scottville on Conrad Rd for a couple years when I was in High School, 1987-89.

Was back a few years later to visit some family friends, but not since. Been a long time. I sure don't remember too many roads that were worth bothering to gear up for riding though.

Ok, tomorrow, Yankee Springs ride. Two ADV'ers leaving Lansing at 7am, dull.
I imagine we find ourselves in YS area about 8.30ish. We are going to attack some single track and two track, just need to be back about 3pm.
Kind of early, but hey, family gets part of the weekend too.
Besides, I am supposed to be working on the kitchen cabinets/counter.

PM me if anyone wants to join us, I will give out my # in PM only.

Hope to see a few riders.
