Than, are you fibbing about this Florida ride? I could swear I saw you on Butternut Dr. today. Maybe it was your evil twin. Black KLR, same jacket, etc.

No shit?

I've seen another black KLR around, but no other HI-VIZ Kilimanjaro's.

In fact, the other black KLR I've seen is a NOTGATT rider, no helmet with his igloo playmate lunch cooler strapped to the back.

I don't envy anyone riding down to Ft. Myers on I-75 unless its in a car in December. There aren't any decent backroads either unless you count 441/301 which will take you through 500 little towns and 500,000 stop lights. The further south you go the crazier it gets starting at Atlanta. Lots of radars from McDonough to Macon. Great restaurant in very cool old downtown Alachua, the Conestoga. The good thing? Many of the snow birds and tourist have fled north, oblivious of the shit weather waiting for them.

You might want to back off another month. Why go north at all? I'll stop by the cottage and give it the once over......I was going to head north today but see that some nasty weather is going to develop up north so I'm going be stuck in Texas for a few more days.

Ok, it might not have been a Kilimanjaro, but it was the same shade of hi-viz. Don't forget to "See Ruby Falls." That is all I remember from childhood trips down I-75.

Hope everything's ok with the family emergency.

Hey JJ, the same rules apply for the Tampa area as Atlanta. Its not as crazy but very conjested at rush hour. I doubt that you'll make it to Ft. Myers today, there is a nice Sleep Inn motel south of Ocala at Belleview exit. Sonnys BBQ and awesome Don Gartlis Museum next door. Its actually a nice drive on 75 between Ocala and Tampa. Looks a little like Michigan, green and hilly. Enjoy!

Good advice on the bypass Goat. All trafficy until I pulled off on 285 then it was smooth sailing.

I'm about 20 miles from the FL border now.

Welcome! Hamilton is one of my favorite local places to ride as a Hollander.

Hey Than, how do you post so much and still put on big miles? Did you make it rest of the way today? Let me know if you want a backroads route to Jacksonville. I know some sweet roads which are hard to come by in F L A.

#1. I use my super duper smart phone when I stop.

#2. I'd love that. I have to ride to Kings Bay, GA in Saturday.
