Nope

If the weather is good next Wednesday, should we meet up for a burger at that other brewery?

For boot waterproofing I use Mink oil. Ever hear a Mink complain about getting wet?

It was sunny and warm yesterday and I didn't see one bike. Strange?
My theory about those riders is that they have so much great weather that they just pick the perfect days to ride.... To them, that means 82 degrees, sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and very light wind. If they lived in MI they would not own bikes. There would only be like 7 days/yr they could ride. You would not want to get dust or rainspots on your HD of course

I don't think so. It rained all day yesterday and I saw three bikes even with huge puddles and some flooded low spots. Mid- seventies and sun forecast today. I guess im a bike snob because I would rather drive a rentacage than ride my bro-inlaws cruiser.

Well, I ain't no snob! Then again I don't have to ride a cruiser

I got out for a ride today to try out some of the seasonal roads in Allegan east of M40 as I usually stick to the area west of it.

First you need the appropriate ride tunes. Being a huge CCR/Fogerty fan I picked up John's new album when it first came out. This one is probably my favorite so far:

Started with breakfast at Rock Island, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my food before I ate it

I was prepared for some sand as I had ridden a little bit of this with oldmanron a few years back but holy crap. If you are looking to test your sand mettle or try out that new Kenda Trackmaster on your orange 2 smoker take 132nd east out of Hamilton. You will soon have all the sand you can eat.

With the last 3 days of rain I had a brown pudding roost flying out from behind the bike...not me Seriously though, I was keeping it pretty cool because I was alone, but I'd be cruising along at about 25 and hit the throttle to get through a particularly rutted, loose sand section and all I'd get is wheel spin and a roost that looked like the output of your snowblower when you hit the end of the driveway,

I intended to show it on google maps here, but google doesn't even show 132nd as a road that goes through in that area.

From there I took 127th east and ended up outside of Hopkins. This road was awesome this time of year. It's all graded/maintained hard pack so it's fine for you GS/Strom riders, but there are just enough elevation changes to let you see the countryside around you. With the old farms, grassy meadows and fall colors it was incredible.

I also found Sandy Pines. I couldn't pay close attention because I was coming through a paved corner on 14 psi so my attention was elsewhere, but I'd swear I saw a two story trailer in there. I was thinking:

Actually the roads around there are pretty good too. There's not much of it, but it's twisty

A good morning all in all.

The big cruiser I don't care to ride is a Suz 1500 twin. It's hard to steer with the front end raked out and the forward controls are just weird. There isn't any good riding along the Texas coast anyway. Good seafood but boring riding.

I couldn't agree more. I've only ridden a few bikes with forward controls, but I never felt comfortable. I don't intend to ride one again.
