Two friends, one Trans Lab... and one dead DR350.

Yup, one dead DR350.

Hi inmates!

So my friend and I purchased some bikes (me a 1990 DR350, him a 2000 TTR 250) to make the TLH journey from Ottawa...

I was hoping to do a COMPLETE ride report when we were done, but I think the trip just got cut short!

My DR350 cut out on me (backfiring) about 10km past Relais Gabriel. We pushed the bike into the bushes off a side road and drove two-up back to the Relais.

While we were there, we were lucky as all hell to hitch a $500 ride with some other guys getting towed back to Baie Comeau.

And now here we sit, no mechanic open until Monday and it's only Saturday.

I'm going to go to Canadian Tire and get a set of feeler gauges to check my valve clearances, I'll also check my cam tensioner and chain (IF I'm allowed to work on the bike in the tow yard).

At least we have one good bike, the TTR 250, that can ferry our gear back and forth to a campground outside of the city.

Are there any Adventure Riders in Baie Comeau that have a pickup truck to help transport a DR350 to a campground?

Right now the bike is at Garage Pierre Lavoie, and we'll have to taxi over there and see what I can do.

If any of you awesome inmates know anybody that could possibly help, it would be appreciated greatly!

This, you can say, is a last ditch attempt of a call for help

Thanks a bunch, everyone!

- Brock

So I fixed the bike in a garage today.
Took the tank off and it turned out that a wire had come off the CDI.
I took the opprtunity to change the oil at the same time.

Changing the oil was a good call. Sh*t happens sometimes unfortunately. Keep us posted.
