on the ride down

we stopped to look at the most northern castle build by the Normans in Italy.
Also we would follow a very, very, old track via gps that had seen little or no use in some time. The route was over grown with brambles, and thorney bushes like i have never seen. Dario always wears his riding jacket, for protection, while i was too hot to use mine and so, there are many bushes , somewhere in Italy with a bit of good old American blood on them. ( at least i didn't overheat !) :)[IMG][/IMG]

Trials event Reiti Italy IVE BEEN BEATEN ON 2 CONTINENTS!

The club that hosted the trials event is known as Valley of Canera trials club. their president ( Maurizio ) was most generous. There were about 30-40 riders total I think. They had the choice of 2 lines to ride.
The red, lines denoted advanced and above, i hoped that was riding abilities not age!. And the blue line for us lesser mortals. 8 sections ridden twice, with a loop or trail of 2-3 KM. We rode in groups of 4-5 for scoring purposes. It was so cool to head out from the small rural soccar field on the loop, passing farms and riding on public roads without fear, and without plates on the bikes. The sections were well planned and laid out. Technical somewhat , but not dangerous. ( big concern for me).
picture of Maurizio with Dario. p.s. Thanks for the shirt Maurizio!!!![IMG][/IMG]

I had a blast, wasnt first but tied with Dario

on points. To break ties you then go to who had the most cleans or perfect rides for the day. Dario, my hats off to you buddy. We have competed once before together in Italy.I dont remember who won that time. Then i returned the favor when he was in USA and i had home field advantage to better him on score. So, any neutral countries want to host our rematch???? Watching us might be better than watching grass grow!

Now this club has its act together,

afterwards, sandwiches, bottled water, coke, or WINE and.. PIzza. Nothing keeps a group together to bench race like food and drink, did i mention a sweet for desert? They had Nutella on Pizza bread... yummmmmmm [IMG][/IMG]
