Sardinia... here we come!!!!

The trip had been planned by Dario using GPS,some military maps, and google earth. Last fall they had explored the other coast(east) from north to south. There would be a total of 11 riders
Allesandro....Honda XR 4oo
Daniele........Beta 450
Dario...........Honda XR 650 R
Luigi............GAS GAS 300
Giulio...........KTM 400
Lorenzo........Honda XR650 R (Both XR 650s with elec start)
Luciano........Honda XR 250
J...just...J.....Honda XR 400
Marco..........KTM 525
Stefano........Beta 450
Umberto........KTM 400
all bikes were plated (street legal) 6-7 riders had trials competition experiance in their backgrounds, several have ridden in Libia and some in Africa
The island of Sardinia is about 1/10th the size of Colorado it's 24,000 square kilometers. We would be taking the overnight ferry from Citivitavecchia (near Rome) to Olbia on the island.

ahhhhh, smooth sailing,

through the night in our cabins ( 4 per each). To awake, have some Italian coffee. and then get on with it !!! We would over the next days open and close hundreds of gates, cross many fences, rebuild one fence after crossing, ok rock wall 3 feet high and the wire cutters .. were essential tools. No we didnt get shot at!!!! the first water crossing! :)[/IMG]

now that youve p[layed it 3 times laughed

and shared it with friends... can we go on? The guys helped be Drain the bike, clean airfilter etc. dump water from exhaust drian float bowl etc. Giulio was the one to my aid in the water, Allesandro tore right in on it to get me going and Dario, who had drowned this same bike sameplace last fall, decided to go the road route avoiding it. ( was that an option)??
later a lunch break! Now, all of the following pictures should be credited to the great guys i was with, each shared their photos and vids with me so i wouldn't have to buy just any old digital camera, and in the small towns we went through it would be a time consuming chore. Thats how great these guys were and are. Thanks, it only took me 32 hrs to memorize all the names, couldn't they just be simple and have one letter for a name like me??? noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo[IMG][/IMG]

Oh I know that feeling of "being hot" myself. Luckily it was not caught on video!

Looks like a great trip.

ciao

ok was i cursed?, My back pack had some contents that decided to jetison at 60 KMPH on a road late in the day, Thanks Marco and all for picking up the pieces, then Lorenzo comes flying up to me pointing to my rear tire!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, a flat....... once again, the guys have covered my backside and got to it like a nascar pit crew as i was told to steady the bike (perhaps to keep me from further trouble). Nice nail. 45 minutes later.. on the road to the first nights lodging. Agritourismo like a B&B but dinners too... great dinners.[IMG][/IMG] i dont look happy do I ?
