Picked it up today. Only have ten miles on it, but I know already that I'm going to love it! Will post more later...

First TMax in California?
Jack (Rhinowerx) has been telling me about the TMax for months. I have to admit it is a VERY good looking scooter. A customer pointed out today that it would look even sportier without the tall windshield. I offered to take it off for him to try to get him on it as a first bike instead of the GSXR600. He left without either one.
Our sales manager was at Yamaha corporate in Cyprus for a live infommercial on the TMax and the new 2009 VMax (I'm sure the names are coincidental) and says they told him ours is the first in California. He also learned about ten percent of the information that is available on this thread. If any of you locally want to come take a look live and in person give me a call before hand and I will tell you if it is still here. Andrew Long Beach Motorsports 562-427-2779 |

I'm Smiling!!!!
Just got back from my first ride. Put about thirty miles on it. I've owned a lot of bikes over the last 43 years - mostly Honda, Yamaha & BMW - but I don't remember ever having this much fun. I'm 5' 9" and 160 pounds, with a 30-inch inseam, and it feels like the bike was custom built for me. The seating position for me is perfect, and I know I could ride for hours very comfortably. While riding this evening I was trying to think of anything I would change to make this scoot better and I couldn't come up with a thing. Although, an electronic cruise control would be really nice. The mirrors are great and there is no vibration and the visibility is wonderful . For a while I was on the worst stretch of asphalt you could find anywhere and I didn't notice any vibration or rattles - none. I think you could attribute that to the great suspension this bike has. Very, very smooth engine. I didn't hit it very hard yet, but once I hit a hundred miles I'll hammer it and see what it will do. It handles much more like a motorcycle than scooter. I've only owned two other scooters, a Helix and a Vespa 250 GTS, and it is not really fair to compare them to the Tmax. The instruments could not be better - a big speedo in the middle and it's analog. This is beginning to sound like I sell these scooters. I'll post more once I get a few miles on it.

Premium gas?
Hayhole, I heard you need to run Premium gas in the Tmax?? Is that true??
Great looking ride, I am patiently waiting on mine. How is the clutching compare to the other scoots you have ridden. Enjoy, Joel |

Finally got to see one today
Stoped by a dealer today and they had a blue TMAX sitting on the showroom floor. Very nice looking machine, I was completely impressed. Size, is somewhere between a Burgman 650 and a majesty. Looked it over for about a half an hour, love the seating position plenty of leg room.
Now I just have to pester my dealer to find out when mine will be here and patiently await.

Good while it lasted. Can't wait to do it again.
Our Tmax is going to another manufacturer for top secret spy stuff. It should be back in a couple of days. I'll post when we get it back.
