Fixed. The gang here is great, just enjoy the useless banter infilling the help!

'99 Adv in Sac-o-tomatoes

Me too, me too!

It's a '99 (does the color scheme give it away?). Bought it the summer of this past year from a guy here in Sacramento, who bought it two weeks prior from some guy in Utah...and judging from the title that came with it, the guy in Utah bought it from some guy in Missouri. All in all though, decent shape. The odo had 4,618 miles on it...but then I crashed, and when I started it back up again, the odo read 2,118 Dunno. Guess I'll restart with 2,118 miles.

These things ROCK. I'm hooked. It sees a mix of about 50/50 street and single track (enough street to get me to the single track ). I keep hearing people say these things are too big/heavy/scary in the woods. Not true. They are only too big at low speed, like when you're trying to turn around in an off camber situation, mid trail (to go find your buddies you just dusted off). The solution is just to never turn around and always go really fast .

Here's my somewhat new to me '97:

Yeah, I know it doesn't have the correct year plastics. I like it this way though so

And the picture my wife hates:

The Easter Bunny will have his hands full with a 50cc bike this spring. Couldn't get the wife to cave on getting one now.

Hello. Just checking in. I have a 02 adventure, bought it new. Im in the San Diego area. Bike is stock except for tires (wore the others out), its too good of a bike to need modifications, or make me want to.
Ill get some pics up later of it and my fathers ATK.

Had mine for about 4 weeks now--about 2,400miles up mainly due to a trip down to the Dordogne (I'm in the UK) --decided to go for the tank bag, tail pack and Gobi panniers--good kit at half the price of BM stuff (ex BMR1150R Rockster owner--and other BMs). I've fitted lowering links and dropped the forks (I'm 5ft 6 ins)--also replaced the standard sidestand with a supermoto version--bike now leans ok. I've also fitted an Acerbis roadbook and made my own tank protectors.

Looks good, but I thought scotty's would predate 2003?

There's my man Chris Barnes. This is the fellow I was refering to in the tank protection thread. Made the CF guards himself he did.
We've already discussed modifying the existing design to include a petcock guard, and a slight shape change to follow the lines of the bike a bit more stylishly.
Quite nice for a first attempt I think... and yer' bike looks pretty swell to Chris.

Talk nice to him boys... he's going to make some more.

Welcome to the asylum Chris!
