Yes, it deforms the stock wshield.
I couldn't meassure the angle while riding , but I have observed that the stock wshield wants to separate from the clocks black cockpit plastic, both sides near the turn lights. For the moment, it only seems to be an intent.

Ditto on the 640 support from this site-I bought mine while still knowing jack about the whole DS scene. Now I know a little bit more, but I can always find the answers I need here.

Good to hear your new screen is performing as planned too

Speaking of taller wind shields, I came across these pictures on a German site a while ago. Apparently the owner adapted one of the earlier lower shield parts and grafted on a taller screen. I am now trying to figure if he made it himself or bought it aftermarket.

Rest of the bike looks great, too!

Here is my new to me Adventure, its still pretty stock, but have ordered Touratech panniers, Aluminium handguards, Roadbookholder for the GPS and a few other bits and pieces.

Anyone know the part number for those small rubber thingies that hold the ball head screws on the cockpit cover down?

BTW Thumbs up for all the great feedback on this forum! A little searching and you know all you need to know about your bike!

+ 500 on that ........

Here's mine finally - and she fit in my truck.

Just ......

Of course all the while we were unloading and loading her, Mother Nature was dumping buckets ..... and then of course, stopped.

I will be going through her (I mentioned this on the 620 history thread) before really taking her out and I'll post up my progress - and I'm sure - questions ......

Besides changing out the fluids - the 1st two main things I need to do is;

Swap out the Edelbrock carb for the Mikuni carb I have for it, and fix the side stand spring holder.

After I get her off the truck today - yesterday / this morning - was a late one for G - so the bike is still in the truck - I'll snap some pics of what I'm talking about regarding the side stand, but essentially what's going on is that the threaded bolt that holds the little spring plate (where the spring, or springs) attach to, broke off, so the side stand is velcro'd up at this time.

If anyone can shoot a detailed pic of their side stand - that'd be great.

I have a welder / fab friend in town that it'll take us very short order to fix it over a couple of cold ones ...... But I'd like to see what it's (the bolt) actually supposed to look like before fab'ing something up .....

More later ......

G.

for your accomplished mission!!!

About your side stand, I have just taken this pics for you, tell me if they are what you need, otherwise just ask for more.

The windshield is self-made.
A guy from the "Adv Reiseenduro Forum" sells these things.
I could offer you help to get one if you´re interested.

Here is a picture of the stock set up.
Not sure if you can zoom in on it.
I actual have a chance to buy this Adventure.
Just without a job since December not sure it is a good idea.

I painted my brothers Adventure a few years ago and am thinking of doing the same to my bigger Adventure and found these shots - wonder if the bike is still around. Ghosted flames on HOK sunset pearl:
