Win WAN's RUCKUS!!!
Ok ADVriders and scooterists alike! Master Wan decided that, upon his journey's end, he would like to raffle off his scooter and give ALL FUNDS raised to the MAKE A WISH foundation.
Make a Wish has informed us that the minimum cost for making an ill child's dream come true is $6900. We opened the donation today and we're already up to $1000! But Wan and all of us at TotalRuckus hope that those of you who've learned of his journey and been inspired by it will contribute. Those of you who are unaware of Wan and his journey, and are too lazy to read the almost 200 pages of his thread on TR, lemme sum up: Guy from Seoul, Korea flies into North Carolina last October with an idea to ride all over and see the sights. A motorcycle is what he wants, but discovers it's big $$$ to insure it. So he buys a Honda Ruckus... 49cc, top speed (on a good day) of 40 mph. He loads his gear and takes off South... ...to Miami, then across the 'Glades, north to the panhandle, west to LA, north to Seattle, east to the grandaddys of all our NP, south to Denver, east to StLousy, north to Chi-town, east to Detroit, and as of right now he's headed south, and then will be headed east to NYC and south again to conclude his trip where it began. Along the way he has met some damned fine folks, drank copious amounts of soju and beer, suffered through snowstorms, hail, getting pulled over, flat tires, high winds, a sprained wrist, the occasional hangover and a ton of other events that might make the average person say screw it and fly home. He is the epitome of an ADVrider! Linkys! The Raffle T hread: http://totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18774 Discussing what to do with his Ruck: (archived cuz we're about to go to a new server, so please excuse the odd format) http://totalruckus.com/Mobile/thread...7612&&start=20 And, of course, for those of you who'd like to know what the hell has happened up to this point: Part 1: http://totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=12143 Part 2: http://totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16406 The "Wan Affect" has been incredible....one o' the most amazing folks I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Read up to see what I mean! Thank You, ALL!

Has he been on Jay Leno or any such shows? Certainly deserves to be and would pump up the bids I'm sure. What did Ewan's GS sell for at charity auction? $50k+ IIRC.
This dude needs exposure.

Awesome, Bullfrog!!!
And Nd2Roam, yeah, tell me about it....but mebbe the whole trip would turn out differently if he had a lot exposure. Folks have been telling their local Honda dealers about Wan for months, several of us have repeatedly emailed NPR, other folks have contacted their local news stations.... ....And nothing. No one seems to be interested in bringing Wan's story to a bigger audience. Mebbe it's because there isn't anything negative in the entire journey? Guess life-affirming, positive, look how great America is stories aren't important anymore. I hope Wan writes a book about it. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
