OK, no more pantless pictures in this RR.
Day eleven, 10.06.08, into Romania We took some more pictures in Kamianets–Podilskyi. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are few pictures from our last kilometers in Ukraine. ![]() ![]() ![]() After approx. two hours we reached the border. No problem on either side, quick and efficient. We were looking forwards towards riding in Carpathians. Why? Because we read about it in this fine report written by my friend Kaan. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...57#post5184257 Road from Radauti to Campulung Moldovenesc was marked as Kaan’s road on my map. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Around Campulung Moldovenesc traffic was heavy and there was really big reconstruction works on the road. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some 60-70 km after construction stopped, there was almost no traffic and scenery was nice. ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to take my tools out again. It was nothing serious, just loose mirror. ![]() We found nice little hotel on the lake near Bicaz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicaz). ![]() ![]() ![]() There was time for our evening routine, beer, food, sleep. ![]() ![]() To be continued...

Day twelve, 11.06.08, visiting Dracula
We started quite late that day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What do you think about this? It also smelled funny. ![]() After some time we entered national park. Scenery was stunning, but there were lot of tourists there, and animals... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large part of the day was spent before we reached Brasov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bra%C5%9Fov ) where we had lunch. ![]() ![]() ![]() While eating we decided that we will just take look of Brasov old city, then proceed to Bran Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bran_Castle) and try to find accommodation somewhere between Bran and Brasov. We planned to go to mighty Transfagarasan tomorrow, so we had to pass trough Brasov again. Just few pics from Brasov for now, more coming tomorrow… ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bran Castle left us disappointed, it has some artificial, tourist feel. Well, we expected that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We found very nice accommodation in Pansion Mir, on main road between Brasov and Bran. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OK, few beer photos before end of this day. ![]() ![]() To be continued on Monday…

Day thirteen, 12.06.08, Transfagarasan
We were back in Brasov early in the morning. Here are few more photos from the city. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After sightseeing and breakfast we headed towards Fagaras and nearby Transfagarasan pass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transf%...%C4%83%C5%9Fan). ![]() ![]() ![]() Transfagarasan. Unfortunately, road was closed after the lake so we had to turn back. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We decided to reach Tirgu Jiu via Petroseni. 7A road is in really bad condition, but scenery is fantastic. Only downside was that it was late and we were low on fuel in the middle of the nowhere. Luckily we managed to find hotel in small village some 40 km east of Petroseni. Next morning we found out that few km from our motel road turned into gravel and it won’t be much fun to ride there in the dark. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry, no beer photos, I was too excited after watching Germany – Croatia football match. To be continued…

Hey Damir! We talked over email about your coming to Romania (passing Radauti) and I'm so sorry we couldn't meet. As I told you, I was gone to Italy in that period. Here's my story http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=356729 Anyway I'm glad you made it and you wrote such a great report here! When I was in your country you were in mine.Keep it ADV ! Cheers, Chif

Thanks Chif, Linza contacted you, not me, but this is not important, it is nice that we all had wonderful time. You will probably come to Croatia again, and I (we) will sure come to Romania so there will be lot of chances to have a drink together.
