Bruce Willis Deck

Here is Dennis standing on "the Bruce Willis deck", I'll let him explain that one.

About 7 years ago a move company wanted to use my property for a Beach front Motel scene in the Movie "Bandits" with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton. They came out and built a deck in my front yard with some fake windows and walls. They got it all done but when the day came to shoot Bruce Willis found out that there is "NO Cell Phone Service" at my property. He refused to work where his cell phone didn't so they came back to tear down the set. They took the walls and windows and offered to cut up the deck for fire wood. I told them to just leave it. So instead of $3000 for the use of my property all I got was a deck in the middle of my front yard, That's why I call it "The Bruce Willis Deck." It was level and looked much better prior to last Jan when the Ocean moved it.

Bluhduh Get those Urals outa here..............NOW.............

Howdy All,

I arrive at DaveO's home and was surprised by what I found, based on a PUI conversation a year or so back I thought DaveO lived in a trailer court but found he lived in a regular house, I recognized his truck from the many times I had seen it in Death Valley.

Here's Dave working hard.

Some random photos of Dave's home.

DaveO helps out at a local air craft restoration club, he suggested that we ride the Urals over to the air museum and take photos of the planes, I asked if it were possible to take the Urals into the display area and photograph the planes with the Urals. Dave asked for and got permission for us to drive the Urals into display area, so far all was well.

Things were going great, I was getting some super photos being EXTREMELY careful and QUIET as we rode around so as not to disturb the folks who were walking around looking at the planes. However, the sad fact is "all good things must end." One of the museum employees came out and told us to leave, we explained that we had been given permission to do what we were doing but he then became rude and ordered us OUT RIGHT NOW. I didn't want to embarrass DaveO, I am an unofficial ambassador for Ural so I kept the "Cob" side of my personality in check but I really would have liked to let this guy know what a total arse hole he was.

So here in random order are photos taken inside the museum and out in the display area. I am NOT knowledgeable as to air craft and engine types so I am relying on DaveO to identify the particular planes.

Jan, Dave's wife took good care of me during my stay, good food and great company. Dave start to escort me to PASSMORE's home but Jan called and asked him to come back home as one of their dogs was having problems after just coming home from a serious surgery. I have not heard from Dave, I hope all is well.

I am now at PASSMORE's home, last night we had tacos for dinner, drank some beer, fed the fish ( Michael is a fish farmer ) fired shot guns at flying critters who were attacking his crop, soaked in the hot tub, and swapped tall tales. Life truly is good. Stay tuned.

Welcome to California. Pretty damn cool state, roads and weather like that on one side and Death Valley on the other side

Don't forget, you can lane split here, if the cows will let you

Keep up the great report
