OKAY

to all parties interested in hard parts, send me an email, with HARD PARTS in the subject. pretty sure you can choose email rather than PM.

a lot of people expressed interest.
ill give it a week to see how many of you pay attention to this thread?
i guess i could send out PMs to each of you but that is a big PITA.
if its more than 10 people (hopefully 15) ill call my guy and get it rolling.

Anybody have the CAD or drawing file? I've sent a couple messages to the OP with no response.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks to John, I have the CAD files and plan to have some cut by water jet. Either tool steel or 316 SS. Is anybody else interested in a set? I don't have pricing yet but am hoping to have this done by my work's parent company. That should keep cost low. Not sure how many they'll do for me.

I'm not trying to make a profit, only cover my cost and any shipping. So if this works out I'll ask you to make a small donation to ADV rider in lieu of my profit .

Best to PM me if you're interested in case I forget to check this thread.

Cheers,

Mark

CAD drawings

I already have a set of hardless guards on my X Challenge. I am interested in lowering the pegs to accomodate my 6'5" frame better, and thought the CAD measurements would be useful in the fab process. If you have a copy, please pm. Thanks.

And if anyone else is interested in this project, let me know and will advise how it turns out.

PM your email and I can pass it on. I stop making them Years ago cause I sold my bike. Moved to Boz and lost my water jet connection.

SO does anyone have a batch going ???

Reason I ask, I have the CAD files, have had some quotes for multiple sets done locally (3/16" 304SS), but if someone already has a set I may just buy them.

I actually hand plasma'ed a set that are on my bike now out of mild-steel but having a backup set wouldn't be a bad thing. After all, they are a sacrificial part...

If you're OK with the cost and shipping to USA, you can buy a set at HotRod Welding in the Netherlands:

I only stopped making them because I moved from where I had the hook up.

but if you take the files to a water jet place with material they should be able to make them for you.
that is all I did.

best of luck

Yep, thanks, I was just trying to find a local/less expensive alternative.

Thanks, no worries, I already have quoted the work locally. I just wasn't going to pull the trigger if someone else had an order in the works. As you know you need to have sufficient interest to make it economical. I can live with my hand plasma'ed set now and can make another out of Stainless when ready.

if you just want a set for yourself; a hacksaw, hand drill, and some files would definitely do the trick.

Instead of water jet you could see if someone with an EDM machine could make them for you. My local WJ guy wants way to much $ for small runs. I have a local industrial saw shop that does sharpening and also has an EDM machine. They charge by the time it takes to cut per inch. For small runs or one-offs this has been cheaper than WJ.

For steel I have a local guy with a cnc plasma that's even less $.

Just a suggestion.
