Thanks DiscoDino,
Thats exactly what they were made for...To be used and abused! Glad they held up! PS: Do you have any recollection of speed at impact? Any measurable deformation? "Would make for a nice study and comparison to my initial calculations!" Kutch

It sure did its job...so did the TT one on the other side...
Well I was in 1st gear...pretty high revs...and riding up this somewhat nasty track...I was reving it enough and bouncing up and down to pop my chain off (not sure if that's a relevant point of reference...this is only my second season...):

The Kutch guards work great. I rode about 20 miles of Pachaug State Park, Sunday morning. It is in the same area DiscoDino was riding in. I'm still not sure how this happened. I hit a 3" diameter tree branch with my head earlier in the day. I had just came out of two large, and deep mud holes and popped on to dry loom and strait on to this rock.

I'll post a pic when I get one but I just thought I would let you all know that the left side hard part not only works but it has convincingly saved my bike!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's just suffice it to say that the metal used IS bendable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was climbing a boulder field, the bike stepped right off a rock face and fell in to a deep hole with the rear tire. BANG!!!!! Climb up out of the hole after a bit of work and find a nice bend in the left side hard part! No other damage whatsoever!!!!!!! Kutch, I'm gonna need a new left side hard part!!!! Now, the water pump cover I sheared off about 1/4 mile up the road after this . . . . that's another story!!!! It does involve a boulder field though! Guess I need to give TT about $250 to fix that problem!!! Good news is that $63 is all it costs for a new water pump cover, gasket, and hose. Bad news is that there are none in the US and 58 of them in Germany!

Nothing like "destructive testing" ![]() You still got my addy right? I've STILL got a hold up in the machine shop for future orders... ![]() Sorry guys...Anyone who has sent a check...They are sitting right in front of me, unopened - reminding me of the hold up...Kutch

Count me in for two full sets. That's one set for me and one for my buddy cvestal.
I PM'd you a while back; you replied that I should hold on to my money until you had round two ready to ship. So I haven't sent a check yet. Just wanted to be sure I was officially in the queue for whenever they become available again. Regards, and thanks for making these available. |
