Just as well we spell it differently. I think Orange Jim is right, a fair few stalkers.

Yeah there's more than you think!

Dropped a set of .56 springs in the forks on my 990 today (.48 stock), hoping to get a blat on it tomorrow but already can notice how the front stands up.

Got an appt with Grog to drop an 11 map into his bike tomoz.

Wilmo, I put .52 in my front. I am no expert but its a lot better. No more of that spongy feeling and thumping when I hit something.

SPS recommended 0.64, so that's what I recently put in. Yet to test off road, but seems fine on road.

With a Safari tank and my 100kgs Im using 0.70's could have even gone to 0.80's for fully fueled and loaded and its awesome but a revalve is absolutely essential.
Best front end Ive ever had the pleasure of riding, comfy as and soaks everything up.

Will $13-$15k buy me a decent low miles 990 in Sydney???
sell it mate before you come as said. Australia import lawsand quarantine laws will give you headaches. There is quite a lot of good 990's for sale over here, 20,000km's is still low km machine for us. you might only have to outlay another couple of grand to get yourself a good ride.

My springs came from MPE, just couldn't be bothered taking the forks off and shiipping to Qld to get them revalved. No plans on putting a safari tank on, so wanted the heaviest springs that work work without touching the valving. They thought .56 would work for my weight and would be an improvement over stock which I'm sure they will be. They had to cut down and modify a set of longer springs to work with the 200mm suspension on the non-R version I have as told me off the shelf springs aren't available for the std travel set up. You can hardly tell which end was cut down, great job.

Grog's reflash was a success, checked the tps and throttle body balance, disabled the SAI, (he's pulled this and put in the resistors already, not sure they are needed when its disabled in the ECU like it is now though) , checked an error code about the air temp sensor which we then cleaned and checked the connection - no further error code appeared on next start. Did the 15 min idle and all good. 09 Akro map to now 11 Akro map. Got to love TuneECU.

The rebound dampening will not be able to slow the recoil of the stiffer spring, hence needs to be 'revolved' to suit, and compression dampening also would need work.

Yeah, thats pretty right.
The standard valving is completely overwhelmed by stiffer springs.

I actually did the .70 springs before a revalve and it was complete shit and nearly unrideable.
Did a full revalve and its the best Ive ever experienced, very impressed.

I did also revalve the rear and replaced the piston with a bladder.
