I just mounted a pair of Pirelli Diablo Stradas. They are listed as "HIgh Milege Sport"

I would recomend the 650s, I bought my SV for that reason, I have a couple buddies that are Wera Expert racers on SV650's and they swear by them on the track....

I bought an '01 that was set up for racing back in April.
I've come to be very impressed with the bike. It's a fun bike to ride at the track, and I've been wishing I could have found one that is streetable. It's nimble, and pretty much has the same torque curve as my ST1300, without the drag of 40 more HP. I'm running a basically stock front suspension, with the exception of RaceTech emulators, and am planning on trying some mods to get the front to not dive so much on heavy breaking. I don't think I could have picked a better learning tool for a novice racer. Steve |

anybody have any info on the shock they are running out back. I just bought a 07 GSXr shock, but have not installed it yet, I was wondering if I should just dump the big $$$$ on a Penske..

I have heard the 650 didn't get any better mpg than my 1K... guess that guy needs to do some tuning or check his motor's mechanics.

06 SV650 naked here. I love it. Bridgestone BT-021s are great replacement tires. I will do the Race Tech cartridge emulators sometime over the winter. Holeshot mirror extenders are the only other mod I've done. I get around 50-52 mpg on most tanks -- mainly on backroads.
