450 EXC luggage options?

I'm not looking for anything huge, just enough room so I can take some essentials (rain gear, extra clothes, tools, tubes, beer money) along on longer rides. What are people using? Include pics if possible.

firerigger I would like to know too. I have a set of Scout Dirt Bagz on my 640 Adventure R and I think they would work great on my 400EXC if I can make some mounts. My Wolfman Enduro tank bag fits the EXC real good, small but hey it holds some stuff and has a map case. There are some Canooks on ebay that sell a sweet looking rear rack but at $179 I havn't been able to pull the trigger on that.

We have just launched our company Giant Loop, LLC and the bags are in being sewn right now. In fact, I have a photo shoot at 5pm today with our production sample. Our website should be up in about 10 days and all the information will be there. I will send you a pm with a link. We hope to take delivery 9/22/08 or so and will be shipping immediately.

You'll appreciate the design of our product on your machine as soon as you ride it all loaded up. Our system will allow you to carry just exactly enough gear all tight and compact, in-close with nothing swinging around or coming loose. Should take you about 35 minutes to install the first time and less after you've drilled a few holes in your plastic. We scored a stainless steel heat shield that is really nice and allows for a left or right side pipe defense to prevent any melting. All mounting hardware and detailed instructions are included.

For day trips the system collapses into itself with the compression straps to hold whatever you need secure and still in the right place on your machine. I've put over 5000 miles on this kit in one form or another and absolutely pounded my bike through many days of high desert, mud, rocks, sand and lots of trips in the mountains, rain and snow of the PNW and this really works. While you are waiting for your buddies to re-attach, repair their racks or strap their stuff back onto their bikes you'll be looking at your set-up knowing your bike rides reasonably normal and still looks cool too!

the rear bag, it looks like it does not require any type of rack system correct? Is the muffler heat shield built into it?

I can vouch for Wachs' set-up. I've ridden with him several times all loaded up and while the rest of us are re-strapping and tightening our wonky loads Wachs is up the trail enjoying himself. Sometimes he waits.

Best of all? NO rack required!

Now if he can just design a good inexpensive KTM kickstand...
