QLD Single seat Rego

Single seat rego no longer requires a Authorised Persons inspection and Modification Plate fitted in Queensland just a 2 page form to fill out and front up to the Transport Department, saves about $200 per year, changed my R1200GSA and R100GSPD last week. Only took 10 minutes no inspection required.

But the modifications are still required (rear footpegs removed and mounting holes made unserviceable, upholstered section of seat no more than 500mm long), and they are supposed to look at it to make sure the modifications are done.

Although I am yet to hear of anyone actually looking to see if the modifications have been carried out.

And I am guessing they would take a dim view of any caught with someone on the back.

There is another thread about it on here somewhere.

My R1200GSA has a dual seats as standard so just take off the seat. Easy, MY R100GSPD is fitted with a single seat & rack. I never take a pillion, so not really an issue.

Whinger. Try NSW or the ACT for being rooted in the arse with a barbed-wire-wrapped elephants dick.

My bike is Qld solo reg too, I'll be fucked if I'm paying what NSW is asking.

Most places around Brisbane, that were authorised prior to new rules, didn't cut the seat anymore. I would never cut my original seat down!

Very timely thread this, it jogged my memory to check the rego expiry on my bike and sure enough, those clowns at Queensland Transport have neglected to send me a renewal reminder. The rego runs out on the 2 January, so I caught it just in time. Someone is going to get a nasty email sent to them.
