Yes I had a faulty tank installed by the dealer.
Obviously They didn't even test it as it had cracks and leaked like a sieve.

Bypassed the dealer and obtained replacement no questions asked direct to Rally raid in the UK.

Looks awesome Creedy..

Can you post up a photo of the bike from the front, so I can see how it looks with the Rally Tanks fitted ?

Cheers, Sol..

The only pic of the front head on is this one with the Fairing dummied up but you get the idea of the width of the Tanks.

Rally Raided and ready for the Simpson

Here's my mount for an unassisted crossing of the Simpson. She is ready to go, just need it to cool down a bit.

That's a beautiful looking rig edog200. What is the total distance of your planned route? How many litres of fuel/water will you carry? Any mates on motos going with you? I'm aware the Simpson gets put off limits during the hottest parts of the year. When does it usually get openned up?

This is the bike I rode from London to Sydney but specked up since then with full fairing. Total distance 4,500 ks - one way from Alice back to Sydney. Six riders. three on Rally Raided 690s similar to mine. One on my old 640 and two on DR650s. We leave Alice for the Simpson on the 16th of May 2014. We'll carry 43 litres of fuel, plus 18 litres of water

14l Safari tank

Probably the most relevant thread to put this in.

A certain online auction site has a:
KTM 690 ENDURO LONG RANGE FUEL TANK 14 LITRES

recently listed.
Not mine, won't fit my bike, no affiliation with seller etc.

I was at Sutto's Bike shop in Penrith yesterday and they have 3 690's.
1 was a brand new 2013, 1 2nd hand with Safari tank and renazco seat and another 2nd hand with rally raid tanks and fairing.
To see the pair of second hand ones side by side was a great comparison of tanks.
I have to agree with Hoots somewhat, the Safari looked bloody huge while the RR ones (evo1) looked so much sleeker.
But then the price difference is pretty large too...

I had my suspension worked on by Terry Hay which was the reason for being up there. Did a small test ride on his single track and the bike feels great. About to go for a longer ride after lunch on some erosion mound fire trails.

This is the work done as per the invoice:
Fork service / oil seal /lower
FSRP ? 435154
Fork gold valve
fork bush

Shock service/ oil seal/ revalve/ lower
Shock spring 0800.225.0450
Shock spring adapter 1 thick 1 thin

Its a bit greek to me but it feels much better so far
