my '12 300 exc was pretty much the last one sold in vic after the '13s had arrived. big saving if the latest sticker kit doesn't matter.

Not sure if these changes were made on the 13's but this is basically what's new on the 14's...

Why

Why the hell would they fit abs to a bike marketed as an enduro bike.. The shorten suspension. . Now this. .. next my ktm350exc will have abs and traction control. ....

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

It's most likely what the EU requires. I hear they (eu) are lookin to pass laws that stop riders from mod ing there bikes in anyway. That includes changing tires from anything other that what the bike came with, changing color, can etc

There is a reason. The EU has mandated that all motos, larger than 125 cc have ABS by 2016.

If you pay for the dongle (I really think KTM should just include it) You can switch from ABS front and rear, Dirt mode--ABS front only, and ABS off. Apparently defaults to Full ABS everytime you cycle the ignition?

If you take the time to read the linked article, Cycle World, using a pro rider determined in their testing that ABS front only on dirt, out preformed ABS off on the new 1190. Seems like a bit of a game changer. I sure hope the new 690s have the identical or very similar ABS to the 1190.

I stupidly damaged the switch / magnet on the kickstand the other day, when manoeuvring the skid plate back onto the bike ...

Bike started, then stopped when gear engaged - kickstand up - problem obvious ...

Installed the little mod from Slavens Racing, which is now available as a KTM hard part (61011046044) - there seem to be other ways of doing this (e.g. taping the magnet to the switch or inserting a resistor) but if the switch is damaged or the magnet lost (both in my case) then the mod is a good way to go ...

Very quick and simple - works well - if I'd thought about it, would have done this (or one of the other fixes) a long time ago as you're a bit stuffed if the switch paraphernalia is damaged or malfunctions out on a ride ...

There's a nice example of a 690 with bling bits (no tanks) in the flea market for those looking for a 2nd hand one

As things are a little tight at the moment money wise - thought i would have a go at repair rather than forking out another $200 for a replacement part.

Its made from a stainless steel shelving bracket i found on the hard rubbish and knocked up this pedal that i think will do the job fine until my next off.

A mighty fine Leever! I love a good home-brew! RS

G'day you lot,

I'm getting ready for this years APC rally in May, woohoo!!
I want some lower pegs - maybe 1" lower and 1/2" back.
I want them about 1" longer
I want them 1/2" wider

Is there anything available like this?
Preferably in Australia

I've got some of these on my Transalp and now my 690R.

They are not actually made for the 690 but will go on with minor linishing.

The only issue may be where they press against the alloy KTM mount and whether the mount will be strong enough.

Foot Peg Kit On Road / Off Road KTM | FRS.04.011.10100/S

Not your 1" and 1/2" but pretty good
