Sneaky little fix for clutch plates that have not had any "soak time" Put it all together, then pull the clutch lever back and cable tie in position. This allows the oil all around the new plates. Driven plates have got very hot. What oil cooling do those rigs run?

No oil cooler as such on these, my clutch has had a pretty hard life certainly a lot of sand work and I fried it when stuck in a ditch,

2013 690 Enduro R Centre stand

G'day all.

Just trawling through, on the fuel filter thread, & spotted El Ponkin's 690 with a centre stand.
Having just changed down from a 990 Adventure S, I miss having one.

Only one I've heard of is from Rally Raid, who will only supply combined with a belly plate, at about $750

Does anyone know of other Centre Stands available?

Warning- you do lose ground clearance. I thought about it but decided against.

+1

Don't worry about the centre stand - you'll get used to using other options in the shed or on the trail - more weight and less clearance, and something to get snarled up in sticks etc ...

Rubber plugs.

For those people that have removed the SAS system from there bikes & fitted rubber cap to the outlets. Check them regularly. This has done no more than 2000Klm.

Link pivot pin

I have been searching for the last hour (several hundred pages!) trying to find a particular post. There was a member on here that made his own pivot pin hardware for the rear suspension link consisting of a machined pin and cone washers to snug it into the frame. There were even drawings with dimensions so that it could be reproduced. Can anyone point me towards that member/ post?

I am well aware of RRP's pivot pin/ hardware, that is not what I'm looking for.

Brand new DRZ400 forks, shock and triple clamp for sale on the flea market:

Apparently the forks go well on the 690 - not sure whether the shock is an improvement ...

I really dont know mate, the sort of riding I have been doing lately is fairly snotty. .. numeralla/Mogo and more around home. Ideally I would get a 2nd bike for the single trail but another hungry mouth to feed so to speak.
I was happy with the 690 on the weekend until the ride went from lush fire trails to the numeralla rocks . It just seems to beat the hell out of bikes, and I don't want to do that to the 690.
But its a lot of fun to ride.
I think I need a cheap beater.

Got mine yesterday

Got a few bibs and bobs with it but i'm still waiting for the mount for the Akrapovic. Once i have run it in i will pull it apart and set it up how i want it.
Then i will flog it like a red headed stepson.

Thanks for looking

The old girl and the new one

Here's a pic of my Rallyraid 690 waiting for her new owner to turn up and the new girl (last of the 2013) waiting for her KTM Basel kit to arrive.
Life can sometimes be tough. fortunately this week was not one of those times

Does any one else get wear marks on their tanks like this? Mine only wears on the right side. Left is not marked at all. I assumed its because the exhaust heat shield keeps your left leg away from the left side. Looking at some Techspec grippers http://techspec-usa.com/magento/inde...2-0006-c3.html to protect those areas. Any one used it?
Creedy.
