Because I'm so keen on getting the baja designs squadron leds I think I'm
a bit locked in to which farings have mounts for them.

I don't think the lynx or alberto faring is set up for them

I was happy with the wind protection I got from my ktm touring screen,
so I don't think I need full faring. It's just that I busted it and want something new.
I saw this (inmate) and thought it would do

Bugger about the Wide ratio gearbox expense....how can ACT do it so much cheaper? is it volume, simplicity, materials, quality?

Gears can be very expensive to make and low volumes do not help.

Mine has been stalling a bit recently, esp at idle and low throttle applications (just off the stop). Added to that, it seemed fairly doughy on roll on applications around mid range.

Took it to Dale at MotoStar in Carrum Downs, he hooked it up to the computer and cleared a couple of fault codes- intake air temps was one he mentioned. May be when I was putting it all back together after the 700rr build, I had the ignition on a few times to get the lights etc to work, may not of had all sensors etc plugged into the loom at the time and caused some EFI/ECU confusion.

Definitely all good now though.

Intake sensor is fairly standard as you quite often switch the ignition during servicing with the airbox removed but just storing and then clearing a stored fault code won't make any difference to running. More than likely did a "reset adaptations" and a 15 min idle run.

Yeh said he's meant to start if from dead cold, then run it till the thermo fan kicks in to get the ECU to re learn. But it was hot when I got there, but did cool a touch whilst we stood around yakking.

Did say even though it wasn't dead cold, all the readings were within the 'green' range, so all good. He, and I, we're pressed for time a touch.

It definitely went better on the way home. The front wheel did about half the miles as the rear......

For those who didn't notice the link:

Just some food for thought , what if gears from a 990 fit ?

I might know of a couple of ppl with spare 990 gear boxes , I'm looking to re build my bike in the next 3 months

2012 stroker crank
With hi comp piston or standard possibly going to 707cc all depends

If I can get my hands on the 990 GB I'll have a look

Wicked Biting the orange bullet

I'm in the market for a new steed and it had to be another KTM. I've been following this thread with much interest over the last 6 months to help with the decision - a low km late (as they go) model 640Adv because FI scares me, or a shiny new 690 Enduro adventurised?
After the comments here over the last month in particular I'd decided to play it safe and find a good 'ol 640 Then today I thought fug it and ordered a shiny new 690 with fruit
Can't wait
