Alright, through Peru it's.......Lima-Nasca-Cusco-Ayacucho-Huancayo-Tarma-Huanuco-Huanuco-Huaraz-Cajamarca-Macara (border crossing) spending 2 days in Cusco, all the rest moving along, then into Ecuador and up to Quito.

That plan all changed!!!!!!

Rain

Gotta tell ya,for the last year and a half it,s been raining more than I,ve seen in 13 years. So you,d best be prepared for a lot of mud on that Cajamarca-Macara stretch and with them big fat loaded Beemers you,ll be getting a lot of Aerobic exercise.

Well, as you see, I'm not much of a writer. I'll post a lot of pics and vids while on the trip most likely. Thursday I packed my bike and went to the local dealership and auto parts store for some last minute things that I wanted on the bike in the crate. I went over to Ken's house to meet the guys and mount some knobbies on Jim's bike and Katie's 650. The work went well with no pinched tubes. We had to much gas in our tanks so Jim was doing laps around the neighborhood and I went to take off my tank and drain some fuel. Trip lesson 1: Never touch your perfectly running motorcycle two hours before putting on a pallet to be containered and shipped to another country for you run the possibility of breaking something last minute. As I took off the tank one of my quick-connects broke in half. I replaced it with a straight piece of fuel line. Easy fix but now not as easy to ripp off the tank. I'll bring a set of quick-connects with me to replace the one I broke and to have an extra one when I get there. Well, after that we were about to leave when Ken realized he needed more rachet straps for the bikes and the pallets. He went to Lowe's and I lead everybody to the warehouse. While we're going down the interstate I look back behind me and nobody's there. Long story short, Jim ran out of gas. He had run the bike dry. In his defense, the new f800 doesn't do a good job of supplying ample fuel reserve amount. I went back and got gas and off we went. It's was already turning into an adventure and we were 5 minutes from home. Well now we wait for a month. I have no nails if you know what I mean. Counting the days and getting excited is all there's left to do. Flight to Lima,Peru leaves on the 29th.

Well, 8 days away from leaving and I'm ready. Everything that didn't go down with the bike is packed, I got all the shots, Malaria pills, poop meds, and home stuff taken care of. I'm more nervous than excited but excited all the same. Many pics and thoughts to come. Stay tuned...............

Sounds like an exciting trip...Did I read right that you have 5 weeks planned to go from Peru back to your home? That seems like a pretty fast trip for that distance, but I hope it works for you!

When will you roughly be in Costa Rica?
