Turkey "Triptik" Carnet
Hello,
I'm a US citizen currently here in Turkey. On the purpose of trip on my visa it says "Business meeting". It's a multiple entry visa and is good for 5 years but each visit is only good for up to 90 days and I have to leave the country and come back once every 90 days. Now, for the problem! I bought a Yamaha YBR125 to ride while I'm here on business in Turkey and I also plan on riding it to the Ukraine later this year. A Turkish friend phoned the Turkey Touring Club in Izmir and asked them about the procedure to get the required Carnet. They told him that as an American riding a bike registered in Turkey I would need a resident permit in order to get a carnet to leave the country on the Turkish registered bike. I don't have a resident permit since I come and go, and I understand that resident permits are very difficult to get. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might approach this problem of riding a Turkish bike out of Turkey? Is there another way to get a carnet? I will return to Turkey on the bike in about a month after I leave. Thank you. Bob |

You should contact the One More Mile motorcycle club at www.ommriders.com they have people all over the country who can help you out. Also the HU communities there.

I think there was another thread on here recently about this.
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...hlight=triptik You might also want to post this in the Regional forum under Turkish riders. Those guys would probably have more info for you.
