Well, as my junior college sex-ed teacher always told me "mo bitches mo problems."

Although I wont have any umbrella girls with me, they are in fact the destination. As such they play a huge part of this story. To combat boredom inherent to a report which has a dearth of the fairer sex, I will undoubtedly do my best (perhaps in vain) to make this story a powerhouse of one liners and punch-me-in-the-face entertainment. If this trip doesn't trump all the others, I'll hang up my good ride-report shirt and retire indefinitely.

Looks like you will be rolling right past me in Colorado. I'm at Keystone (Summit County), Colorado. Drop me a PM if you need a couch and a brew. Have a great ride - love your reports.

Cheers

Well guys, I'm as happy as a dog peeing on a tree. The Nighthawk is back!

All the vendors came through, and I did a spectacular job on the clutch. Damn i'm good.

Not only that, but the difference is HUGE. I can actually powershift the ol' Battle bike without it popping out of gear. The lever effort is about twice as hard as it was before. Which I suppose is a good thing considering it wouldn't have taken much more than the recoil of a mouse fart to get it to move before.

It's ready... oh it's ready...

I'll update tonight with some new surprises:

Dude

Of course going alone will not allow you to soothe your riding partner with good humor and such when things inevitably go wrong.

Thanks guys! I've said it before, your replies are what keep me motivated to continue!

I think the first night I'll spend in the Jackson, Tennessee area and the second night I'll be in the Madison, Wisconsin area.

Does anyone from those parts know a good place for me to camp?

Looks like you'll be rolling right by my neck of the woods in Springfield, IL. I've got a 93 Nighthawk that I was thinking of painting OD green this winter. Looks like you beat me to it . Drop me a line when you pass through central Illinois. Beer's on me

Woo hoo! I loved your first two RRs. Can't wait for this one.

Now that you're done with the $110 tool can you send it back for a refund?
