Charles O'Hara built his house in 1817 without parallel walls because, as legend has it, he was told by his West Indian servant that such a house could not harbor evil spirts. Or, was it simply that the lot was of odd angles? The Trapezium House is now privately owned and is open to the public during select community-wide events.

Sorry man. I forgot my manners. It had been done once before so I didn't elaborate. My bad.

Thanks Chris, for covering me.

Actually google maps has it wrong...I looked on Cockade Alley first.

244 N. Market St., Petersburg, VA is the correct addy. Either way it's a cool looking building!

Our Sq-D vendor turned me on to that building a number of years ago when I was hot and heavy into the Richmond Commuter TOR. First opportunity I had, I used it. Manganos was the one that did the grab and posted the subsequent tag.... which I think I got also.

Regardless, old history and some very interesting stuff to look at.

New Tag for you ghouls

This tag is in a place suitable for the weekend. It has been a place to memorialize the dead since 1702 and is the second largest cemetery in all of Virginia. The church in the background was erected in 1735 and carries the name of the town that no longer exists. It holds the honored dead of the Revolutionary War, the war of 1812 and the Civil War. It is also the final resting place of the highest ranking British Officer to ever die and NOT be returned to England for burial.

I will offer this advice to anyone seeking this tag. Go during daylight hours and take the tour of the church. It has 15 massive stainglass windows done by Louis Comfort Tiffany. My wife and I have traveled all over Europe and seen some of the greatest cathedrals ever built, but these windows are as good or better than any we've ever seen before. They are awe-inspiring.

The location of the cemetery is on a road that is named for a major Civil War battlefield that is close by.

Happy hunting.

Tag.

Old Blandford Church in Petersburg.

This is an incredible old cemetary. I wish I'd had more time to look. I'll definitely be going back some time.

Heads up eastern VA players.

It's headed your way. The only thing I guarantee is that it isn't going on the peninsula. Fooking annoying to have to pay almost $20.00 to cross the bridge to get the tag. But it is headed towards the water.

Here it is.

I found this tag location about 2 years ago while placing the Sunnybank Ferry tag. I've been waiting for the right time to go back and grab the photo.

So, here it is.

Kilmarnock.
Bed and Breakfast.
Also known as Williams House.

Kilmarnock.
That's almost too funny. Was thinking of coming back down through that way today from my daughters. Took a gamble on the I-states instead and had a straight through shot with nary a bottleneck/slowdown anywhere. The HOV was even open in the right direction. That almost never happens.

Good tag Retro. I used to work up in that area on boats in the Menhaden fleets on occasion and just love the place.
