Atlanta to Montreal, 3200 miles
First I want to say that this is our first long trip on a bike ever. My girlfriend and I decide to take the 4th of July week off and head north for 8 days.
Second, we don't have pics of the first 3 days since we can't seem to find the camera. First day is friday after work and we head out to spend the night in Ashville. Saturday we get up early and get going and hit Blue Ridge Pkwy. Only the find out after a few miles there is a detour(pretty long). We get back on in and a few miles later there is another one. We ask the park ranger and there is a bridge out. Also they were having some bicycle race that day. That day we make it to Oakland, MD via Hwy 219, night after getting caught by the rain. Sunday, another early start. We keep on Hwy 219 which takes us near the crash site of flight 93 in PA. This pics are from my phone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We make it to Niagara Falls that day. Get cleaned up and go do the turist thing. ![]() Monday, get going a little late and head to Toronto to the CN tower. After about an hour. we head back down saddle up. After getting lost for about 45 mins and not being able to find our way back on the freeway. We finally hit the 401 and head to Montreal. Kinda boring since there are not many twisties up there. We make a detour and head to 1000 islands. Instead of backtracking we get back into NY ride along the lake and get back into CN at the next border crossing. AFter getting bad directions from my uncle we spend about 2 hrs trying to find our way to his house. we finally make it about 12:30. One thing, streets and drivers up there are real bad. We were doing 80+ sometimes and still getting passed. Next day we spend just hanging out. ![]() ![]() Wednesday we head back to the US thru Champlain. Then we head to VT which is a really nice place and hit the Ben and Jerrys factory. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then into MA. only to find out that my rear Vortex sprocket wore out. Now it's time for find a local shop that stocks Vortex. ![]() It was the end of the day and shops were closing so we spent the night in Greenfield, MA. Next day we head out to find a shop in CT that has parts, get changed and keep going. We make it into NY and decide to hit NY city. At the time it seem a bad idea. The day before the 4th and traffic was really bad and hot. We encounted a guy on a Repsol 1000 which is nice enogh to guide us near our destination. We make it to Battery Park after taking 2nd Av all the way down. First time in NY city and on a bike. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We find that parking is really bad. We enter some street only to find out that Home Land Sec is right there. They were nice enough to let us park there for about 20 mins to take pics. ![]() We get out of NY and head to Philly to spend the night but decide keep going since it looked kinda bad. We finally make it to Willmington, DE. Next day we head out and make it to DC. Spend the day with a friend and walking around. Only to find out later on that I have a flat. ![]() Saturday we hit the local shop, get rapped by them on prices and keep going. We head down via Skyline Dr. which is really nice, just like BRP. Make it to Roanoke for the night. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sunday, leave Roanoke and back to Atlanta via same roads. We were glad to hit the mountains and twisties that day. |

We wanted to get pics of the bikes by all the 9/11 sites but it wasn't possible. WE rode right by the twin towers but there was nowhere to park, and we didn't have time to go the the pentagon.
