Italian Coast to Coast by night

Hy,

with some friend we decide to make the Italian Coast to Coast by night.

The starting place, after a good dinner, is the village of Castagneto Carducci, in the hills over Bolgheri by the Tirrenian sea.
Heading for Larderello (and is Geothermal region), the stronghold of Volterra, the towers of San Giminiano, the Chianti Region of Castellina and Greve in Chianti, the mountains of the Casenti by the pass of Consuma and Calla, then the sunny Riviera Adriatica, and end the course at Cesenatico.

The map

I'll arrive at the village by freeway then with a dried street in the half of sunny fields.

Too sunny, in fact the gps says "South on the 'the desperate'"

The snack in the middle of the night, at Pass of Consuma (courtesy by freevax)

The sunrise on Pass of Calla, 5.00 am

The fatigue in everyone eyes

Arrived! Breakfast in Cesenatico 8.00 am (courtesy by freevax)

Then, waiting for lunch, we gone to 'Saline of Cervia', where there was a lot of bird

seagull...

flamingos...

and herons

photo safari

The last three bike, before lunch, before the trip back home, on another pass full of 'curve e tornanti' (curves and harpins)...

Great trips, great funs!

Fantastic. Great idea. Did you have much wildlife to contend with at night?

Ciao, we likely encounter only a couple of strays dog and some Hedgehog (most of them crushed).
The 'big trouble' you can have with Wild Boar (we have a great tradition with him in Tuscany's cock ), Deer, Porcupine and in the last year is not so strange to meet a wolf.
