My wife bought an entire sheepskin at a yard sale years ago, been making my own seat covers for my bikes ever since. I think they add a fair amount of comfort, warm when it's cool and versey vicey.

Ride in the country

Well the sun is out. It's definitely time to hit the road,,, or trail,,, or whatever happens to be in front of you.
So I keep reading all these right reports out here. I guess I'll take a stab at this.
it seems like I keep getting my ride ideas by reading the rides that the guys in the hood keep doing. so, I headed up to gorge on the Washington side to Lyle. And then headed up north for some exploring.

Obviously, the views were great.......

and they've got these things growing all over up here

These guys look like they were having fun.

.....and of course, lots and lots of twisties

.......well, maybe some curviez

So on towards evening its time to find some place to camp

well typical Northwest weather the clouds started coming in and getting darker and darker.

.....not to worry though. There was lots of clouds and lots of thunder ,,,,,,,but no rain.

so morning came and it was beautiful out.

So it was off for more of this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

At breakfast in Fossil this guy told me about a really fun twisty just a little bit south of town so I went and checked it out. It was a really great choice.

Finally made it down to the big metropolis of Mitchell, Orygun

Oh and I came across this rushing river crossing

well, the clouds and the thunder and the lightning started coming back in...............

...............so I decided to head back over towards Portland,,,the wet side,,,,,, where it was nice and sunny

all in all it was a great 625 miles. If you're interested, there's more pictures over at my smugmug. [/QUOTE]

Another way to make a sheepskin pad is to get one of those sheepskin wash mitts to wash cars with and cut it open

WOW......The last batch of pictures were great

I did not get to ride over the weekend but I did score some points by taking my wife to the tulip festival in Woodburn, OR.

Although not the quality of some of the photos I've seen in this thread, here are a few shots straight out of the camera...

This was in front of the McDonald's in Molalla, OR.

Is the park open for overnight camping? It would be a fun drive down in the hack; spend the night then tour the Palouse a bit the next day. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the comments!

The palouse in general is awesome riding now, and yes there is some camping space at the PFSP, i would check the web site, and maybe avoid the weekend if possible there were a LOT of peeps there on Sunday. Our route went through Benge, Lancaster, St John, Rock lk area, Starbuck, Dusty, and hwy 27 from Rockford to Steptoe Butte.
