I,m using a Nikon D50 with a Pro Master 70-300 zoom, set on auto focus, with landscaping or stop action. I just try to pan with the birds and crop. I got my first 35mm in 1973 and have a AA and BA in Fine Art with photography as my area of interest.

We went down to the Post Falls dam on Monday. The gates were shut, so there were no dramatic ice photos.

I still managed to get a few decent shots of the frost, despite the less than optimum drab, mid-day lighting.

It's too bad the gates weren't open. When it gets cold like this the Post Falls Dam can be pretty dramatic.

The gates were open a few weeks ago.

Too bad it was before the ice formed.

The cold sure does make some interesting frost

If all else fails Couer d' Alene Lake is always good.
