It will truly be a lucky day if that happens. I can't climb a ladder for a while and those little guys will be hard to see from my present view.
Maybe..just maybe.

a bit of duct tape, a pole, camera set for delay, press release, raise pole to desired height, worth a shot! I've done this with an SLR,,the hard part used to be the focus, then waiting for the film developing to see how ya did!,,,but newer modern cameras have that auto focus thing,,so it might be easy!

LB, there are at least three babies in the bird house. They raised three clutches last year.

Can only see two beaks in the first pic.

Three in the second.

Going to try to get some of them having dinner tomorrow.

Thanks Peter. I'll think about it. I don't want to freak the adult out. It has been coming back for a few years now. This is the first time I've spotted the nest. The bird flies into my deck under the canopy every time it leaves the nest. It looks at me fairly close and then at my cat in the chair next to me. then it takes off. I really want to respect it's space.
Here it is from last year..

Have you ever held a humming bird in your hand?

I had the chance to do so after we found one dead on the ground.

It was a full size adult, it weighed nothing. It was like there was no weight, at all.

No wonder they can perform the maneuvers they do.

They are fascinating, and to watch them fly their pattern is remarkable as they accelerate from place or chosen spot to place. Really fast, almost to fast to track visually.

First computer access in awhile, taking advantage and posting photos I finally got to upload from my digital camera starting with my move to Chelan. I'll only post a few to keep my post short but then i'll link the album page and make it public so you can see ALL of the ones i've taken this summer. Including time spent with my Frankenbike, my XL250 haha.

You got the baby birdie or at least a little bit of the baby. Good job. Love springtime.
