i took up smoking at 9, and gave it up a day later when my face turned shades of green.

and mind you, i lived behind a tobacconist shop, so i had a free run at absolutely anything you could imagine ('cept mary's juanna).

i wish you all luck. if there is anything i can do to help you i stand ready (pm me).

it's worth it of only for the sense of taste and smell you will acquire, and getting rid of the stink all over you, and your clothes. think how much more fun sex will be.

Smoked a pack a day for over 15 years myself so I know you guys are in for a hard slog.. Good luck to both of you and your already half way there by saying it`s time to give them away.. Wont be easy though..

A good incentive for you is to put that $80 per week into a jar and watch your money grow.. If it makes it easier for you then think of it as your deposit towards your 950..

In 12 months time you will have $4160 in the jar.. Almost enough for that deposit..

I can think of a heaps of things if it`s your money we`re giving away..

Seriously though, if your own health and the loved ones around you isn`t a big enough incentive, I`m not sure what is..

Agreed Nev,

If you are really serious about quitting, eg ...

1) not putting all those poisons, chemicals, tar, and cancer causing substances into your body
2) dont want some god awful, debilitating, life sapping disease
3) dont want to end up a vegetable cause of stroke
4) dont want to end up in an early grave, missing years of life with family, friends ( and bikes )

... then you have all the motivation you need.

Remember when Yul Brenner said .... whatever you do ... Dont Smoke !

I gave up about 4 years ago, and when it got tuff, just had to think about Points 1 to 4 to stay focused.

Good Luck guys.
