Good to see, I hope you know that If you succeed it will make it a bit easier for me on Monday....

One of the reasons I want to give up is so I make less stops on the bike... From Monday I will only be stopping for fuel.

not sure what para 1 means but apropos para 2, a catheter and a couple of bags of fuel on the back will sort all stops out, mate.

i'm not joining this love in, as bill says if you are not mentally ready you are not ready, i'm not there as yet.

I gave up 2 years ago, cold turkey, thats the only way.

You'll only stop if YOU want to, no amount of nagging/common sense/advertising is going to change that.

The best advise I can give is.....sleep.
I quit on a Friday, went to bed as early as I could over the next few days and slept as long as I could get away with.
The first week is the hardest, after that it does get easier, although your still gonna feel like going on a killing spree for about the first month.
Cheers

There are no hard and fast rules - cold turkey, drugs etc.

What works for some does not work for others.

A good incentive that stopped my sister and aunt from smoking (cold turkey) was 3 smoking related deaths of close relatives in a short period. The old man lost his wife to lung cancer 2 years ago so that prompted him.

So I suggest to get your selfish older rellies to Cark it for your sake if you want some real incentive to quit.

I'd do it for my wife but I offed her rellies ages ago to "smooth" the road for access to inheritence.

I got chicken pox at 28 last year in September. Couldn't breath and when I went to see the doctor he asked me if I smoked.

I said yes and he said: Chicken pox in adults is really bad, it messes your airways and if you are a smoker it can get worse. Do you know how many adults die for chicken pox? Do you know how much higher is the percentage of death for chicken pox if you are an adult and a smoker?

After a few figures and the fact that I had two days without sleeping for the itchiness and the lack of air made me make up my mind.

After the pox went away I thought: What the heck if I could stay two and a half weeks without smoking a cigarrete I can stay forever without it. And that was it.

I was smoking since I was 13.

Well, since you asked we had an old farm dog called touser who used to piss on my mates mag wheels when they came around. One day I was fairly drunk and preceeded to piss on one of my mates wheels and he yelled "GET OUT OF IT TOUSER" and it kinda stuck from there.

So I supose you could say an old mungrel dog;
