I think mine affects the handling.

Do you realize what that fairly pristine Coke bottle carton shell could be worth on e-bay? You could get a much better much uglier top box - maybe even a blue milk crate!

Really, I'd try selling the Coke shell on e-bay, it might be worth some fair money!

I've got two sizes of Pelicans -- easily swapped, with same drilled-through bolt pattern. Here's my small, commuter top-box.

I've thought about doing that. Is that the 8 gal. (20 inch wide)? Is it water proof?

Apparently someone agreed with you and stole the box. And they took the damn bike with it, too!

So I went and got a better and uglier top box, plus a better, uglier bike.

In lieu of purchasing a smaller laptop, I have actually been considering the purchase of one of those hideous top boxes. I've always been happy with big side cases and cargo nets in the past. Now I'm thinking of adding weight in the worst possible location. *shudder*

I'm thinking I can garner at least an "ugly" rating.

I know it's not, but I can always dream... is that a nitrous bottle on your bike?

Great idea, two sizes - one for buns or bread another for a gallon of milk or twelve of cold ones!

Do you have some sort of quick change over system, like quarter turn fasteners on the boxes or what?

The lid appears to match the bike and with that stylish mounting system...
SO SO ugly I like the bike. What year and size is it?

Well, in the Netherlands you are allowed to drive through traffic jams and fitting side cases increases your width so that's a nono and that only leaves my topcase to carry stuff in when I go to work. I've tried a backpack but it's just annoying which I can't say about the topcase which I had on my V-Strom. I'm thinking about which one I'm gonna buy for my new GS since there isn't one on it at the moment.

It's a 2004 Ninja 250. My first bike, and it's taken me through about 7k miles in my first season with nary a hiccup, teaching me something new everyday. It does everything I ask of it, though I admit I occasionally lust after a Ninja 650 or a Versys. Someday...

And the mounting system? Yeah, that's what happens when a biologist tries to engineer something.
