spectro stabilizer

Hi , I went to a local bike shop today looking for a bottle of spectro stabilizer. I have read that it has a formula that equalizes the ethanol in gas in turn stopping all the harmful things the ethanol is doing to our bikes.
The guy at the shop said he had it on his shelf's and didn't like what it turned in to after sitting around a while, crud at the bottom of the bottle and color change.
Has anybody had any problems w/ spectro stabilizer?? I have had good luck with sta-bil

I've had the same problem with an open (cap in place) bottle of Sta-Bil after 2 years, particles on the bottom of the bottle.

Sta-Bil has a definite and printed service life. I'd be leary even of Sta-Bil sitting on the shelf in the store for any length of time.
