Battery charger
Hi,
does anybody have made some experience with battery charger? I never had one before and I had never problems after the winter to start my bike. Now I am thinking of the need of such a charger. What are the advantages? Thanks for any input. Laurent |

Hi Laurent,
The popular charger is the Battery Tender that is essentially a smart trickle charger that you can leave connected all winter...but remember to check battery water level frequently! ![]() You should be able to find it at any motorcycle dealership or accessory. Many online retailers carry it too. |

Laurent,
I second Fish's (or fishees) opinion. I got the Battery Tender Plus at my dealer - it came with a BMW plug and works great. Unfortunately, the electrical system on my GS is significantly better than that on my old 99 RT, so I haven't had to use it since the "upgrade". MCN did a report on battery chargers a few months back and gave this unit an unfavorable review. Subsequent testing revealed a flaw in the tests generated problems that led to incorrect results. These have been corrected. The unit works well and received recommendations. If you need a battery charger, this is the one to get. Marc
