Wow. How timely.

One of my best mates died of a heart attack two weeks ago (I posted about it here) and it's gotten me a lot more serious about trimming down the belt size a couple of notches; to the point that I started a much more regimented eating plan from today, with the idea I'd stick with it for two weeks and then compare the difference.

I figure I've put on an average of a kilo a year for the last 15 years. I wouldn't mind winding that back a ways.

I'll have to get serious and weigh myself now though so I can post it in here ;)

One of the things I did in October last year was to get a full health check up.

After finishing the '07 Safari and knowing I was going to go again this year I decided it was time to get a health status update before launching into a heavy excersise & fitness programme etc.

Apart from the usual chloesterol & blood tests, I also did an ECG heart stress test and a few other things to put me at my limits and see how I went. It was really worth the money & time, gave me good feedback on how things were travelling and a benchmark to build on.

Would recommend it to anyone 40+

Taking the easier option...

I`ve decided to grow a few more inches and therefore be the correct height for my weight..

Count me in Dave

I am 188cm and 121kg. Lost about 10kg since December.

Getting on the pushy and riding helps me to lose weight.

I was doing about 40kms a night when I was in Melbourne but have had a cold for the last 5 weeks so have slacked off.

OK, Ive added a list of 20 guys onto the original post, with starting weights, Might have a check in start of each month, just to see how we are doing.
Gonna be a LOOOOONG 5 months me thinks!

The biggest tip I would like is.. WHAT do you snack on?
I can sort the main meals, but when you're watching telly eg. and you'ed have a cuppa and a TIM TAM. Rice cake maybe? I really want to find something low fat that I can eat lots of with no consequences. Dried apples? Yogurt?
