I assume that its in the same ballpark as the FMF and the Wings which I understand to meet the db requirements. Never had an Akra so I dont know if its different from those others in terms of noise.

Another question. I understand that a remap is not required for these slips ons. Is there a risk (other than to your wallet) if you did get it done? I cant quite tell from the posts above.
there's something etched into the can on the inside face about meeting US forest service standard. I'll try to remember to take picture for you.

The stock barbeque grill they call a muffler drove me insane so I fabed an old RFS Leo Vince pipe to take care of that issue.
$10 at a muffler shop and they made me a small insert for the midpipe, works good!

The header you see is Ti but the stocker is the same configuration.
I started the bike and let it go through it's phaze and after a couple of minutes it idled nicely, eventually I'll get this mapped but it works great for now.

Does your Ti header have a mount for the lambda sensor?

Yes it does, this is the Akra header and they designed it to retrofit with all OEM parts.

I'm getting ready to haul my 690 to the fab shop for my Supertrapp install.
I'll shoot some pics and a vid when I get it back home tonight.

I rode it last night with only shorts on and that pipe gets hot

It's loud, sounds like a Rallye race bike but I love the sound. I'm putting a 94 DB insert with spark arrestor today so this should develop a little back pressure and quiet it down some.

I noticed my bike is cutting off at idle and really low decel so it's probably very lean, I guess mapping should cure this. I'm really green with EFI.

I just got back from the fab shop. The results are excellent and the sound is perfect. At idle, its pretty quite but when you get on it.... well it barks

I'll post up a pic in a few hours.

I had a buddy do the fab work, so I can't take credit, but the idea was mine

Its running 10 discs and the sound is perfect. Quiet at idle and has a nice thumper rumble when you crack it open. When I first rode it with the new muffler, it felt slower until a realized the power was way more linear with better grunt off the bottom. Its also a lot lighter and way cooler.

FMF Racing Q4

I ordered the FMF Q4 today. Say it should ship on the 12th.

advertised with a turbine spark arester ( not really sure what they called it) and that it will not need replacing. They said the power Core 4 spark arrestor is a screen that you would need to replace after burnouts.

Tech said it was 96db. They had no ship date on the Ti one so I just went for what they had. Hopefully it will be cooler, i just keep melting stuff (including my forearms when I wrestle the bike up) on the stock exhaust.
