OK - I'll play. I have a '07 KLE with about 4000 klms on the clock. Nice huh? This is my second KLE although a lot of the photos I will post will be the first one (come on - keep up here...). I havent had many, well, any other bikes in recent years so this one looked like it would do the job. I love it! Stock standard except for a braided front brake line and a new screen. Have since put on barkbusters too. I dont know much about the mechanical side of things so I won't be giving you guys much advice, except for the stuff I can make up and think I can get away with..., I'm just happy to get on and know that it will keep going as long as I can hang on. I also like to take photos while I'm out so if you want to see some more shots of a KLE in the wild,I will see what I can do.

These photos were taken in the Cambewarra Mountain area west of Nowra, south coast NSW.

Inexpensive peg upgrade

Just put a set of DR pegs on one of mine. Drop straight on. You should replace the crappy OEM pins with larger (dr's have bigger pins) ones and drill out the bracket to suite, but you don't have to.

$50, 15 minutes and your done

Kle650 pegs fit s well - I got IMS ones sent from the states for about $50 cheaper than here (and quicker as shop said on backorder 1 month wait). Ebay, and they were at my door <10days from ordering.

I found a nice track that runs along the river in Kangaroo Valley. Nice spot for a swim and nice spot for some photos..

Just put a set of heidenau k 60's on one and have to say, great tyre. On road grip levels are amazing for a 50/50 tyre! Absolutley transformed the bike on the dirt and sand.

No idea of the mileage that they will give considering the on road grip but still, makes the bike much more capable. Will have to try a set on the GS and see what that does

You guys need some SW-Motech bars and some bark busters!!

Thats interesting news about the tyres. At the moment I have the original Dunlop Trail Wings (I think thats what they are called) and they are wearing out reeeal quick. My other KLE had Michelin Anakees on which I was very happy with but I will certainly look into the heidenau. Oh - and I have since these pictures, put a set of barkbusters on.

Dunlop 606's

Cant fail them on tar or dirt and cant wear them out on a kle...seriously you will throw the front away from shear age before wearing it out and the rear will go for ages...

I thought I'd resurrect this thread with a pic of my new (old) KLE doing some local exploring.

I don't have this bike anymore, had to sell it when I went to south Korea. Here is a picture of it with all the gear on. These saddlebags were $100 and just throw over. Not the most awesome kit but did the job. With all this gear on, the bike had no problems. In fact, it felt like there was nothing on it at all. Seat is pretty crap but felt much better when I could lean back on the gear. Motocross helmet was really hard after the first hour.

This bike deserves much more credit then it gets.

I agree mate. It's certainly a good solid foundation to build from anyway. I have some things in the works which will make it much better but as is it's very underrated.

Ah good to see! It's a corker of a bike that one! Shame I didn't get to catch up with ya for a beer when you were up here.

Did you get the raising links sorted?

It's a top bike Dan, I was impressed with it in more ways than i expected and i knew immediately what i needed to change.

Suspension links are sorted although not on yet and i have a full custom exhaust being built so she'll have unrestricted headers and twin pipes out the rear

Would of been good to catch up mate, but we drank enough beer for ya, and volleyball was a laugh
