Correct! We didn't like the position of the Wolfman racks so we made our own. We wanted the weight of the luggage to be in front of the rear axle for a better centre of gravity and best of all 3 bolt each side and the hoop comes straight off

What bags you running? I'd love to see how the expedition dry bags end up positioned on your setup. |

I'm running the KTM pannier racks with 31 liter touratech panniers and am pretty happy with that combo. It allows me to run hard or soft panniers depending on the demands of the trip. The racks are pretty robust.
The upper cut-in of your mock-up reminds me of Jesse Panniers - maybe the ones for the DL1000. www.jesseluggage.com |

Thanks mate...I looked through that site and the 990/950 ktm boxes probably look even more like my idea.

But the cardboard would hurt way less in a get off!! And the tape is designed to break away before serious damage occurs

A few of you have asked me to post up a few photos of my TT racks along with the Wolfman E-12 saddle bags.
I plan on getting the 1.75 gallon Rotopax tank to mount on the tail rack instead of the Rally Raid tanks for the time being. Because of this extra weight the Rotopax tank puts on the threaded inserts molded into the stock fuel tank, I decided to remove the Wolfman Wolf Tail-which for a day ride could tip the scales at 10 to 15 lbs real easily. The tail bag along with the 12 lbs of fuel is more than double what the rack and KTM says can be supported on the ass-end of the bike. For those of you who are wondering, the TT hardbag racks and the SW Motech tail rack fit nicely together and I can't imagine needing any more solid mounting system. The bolts which come in each mounting kit are too short, but a trip to the local Lowe's/Depot for longer metric bolts went without a hitch. Here you go... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Holy Shiite this is a hoot of a bike to ride!! If you're sitting on the fence about a 690, come on in..the water's fine. ![]() Dirty

Good thread, think I have read most/all of it. Do any of you have preference between, or pros/cons between the Rally Raid racks and the Wolfman racks? If I end up with Wolfman bags, should I just go with their racks for simplicity of mounting their bags? Thanks in advance for any info.
Did some more searching and found a couple of folks who commented that they did not really like using the Wolfman bags on the RR rack. Guess I am leaning towards Wolfman racks and bags, unless anyone has additional inputs? everetto screwed with this post 02-21-2013 at 04:56 PM |

There home made
![]() We wanted the side bags to be high enough to take a bit of the weight of a dry bag running across the seat so theres less weight on the rear tank ![]()
