Surely someone could fabricate a strut that would work in the interim ... ?

Thats what I ended up doing.

Lucky I have welding/cutting equipment and a bit of 3/4" tubing lying around. The crossover bar needs to be curved to make room for swing of the rear tire. If it was just a straight bar the wheel would hit it.

I'd take a picture, but it is UGLY - but it will work.

So what do you all think?

30 liters of stuff and 4 gallons of gas with room to spare between the tank bag and rear rack?

Or I can carry 60 liters of stuff, or I can carry 8 Gallons of gas with a couple of 15 litre bags stacked and attached to the rear rack?

Or??????

Did I mention that this can be swapped between my 690 and 990 in just a couple of minutes?

Hey Duct Tape!

You and your bike suck!

Clever use of modular swappable parts.

Now you got me rethinking the one 1.75 gal Rotopax on the tail rack I use on occasion on my bike.

Good Show!

You have some great mods on that bike!

How is the vision with the HDB mirrors, and how much work did it take to mod the footpegs to fit?

I think I'm so very thankful I don't live in KS and have to carry 50 lbs of extra fuel!

Duct Tape, you might want to reduce the weight some just for handling sake. Is that a centerstand I see?

"Give a man a fish (search) and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish (search) and he searches forever."

Here is your fishing rod:

Try google: "ktm 690 center stand" brings up lots.

Try google: "ktm 690 center stand site:advrider.com" brings up lots on the advrider site.

You hit the nail on the head. I just need it today instead of searching forever.

Well without the extra fuel I never would have been able to get here.

360 mile round trip with fuel to spare and at 22 LBS per side (33LBS with the 15 liter dry bag) the bike doesn't even know it's back there but I do also ride a 990 so the 690 feels like a bicycle even fueled up.

Here's the center stand and I do have the Adventure spec bash plate. Modification/grinding is needed on the plate but when you're out in gods country and get a flat the center stand sure makes life easy.

As for the the BDCW foot-pegs they too needed to be modified along with the mounts and I've got some pics I'll dig up and post. Nothing hard just some grinding and patience.
