If you want to use the Hard Parts bag mount (that horseshoe thingy), the mount will pretty much work with any bag. The mount and bag are sold separately.

Hmmm....my rear bag is mounted the other way, see below. I was also told by my dealer that the 690 side racks would accept the KTM Gobi bags that I already had. WRONG! Why would KTM make racks that don't fit their own bags....at least w/o a lot of mods??? Haven't figured out what I am going to do for side bags yet. I look forward to seeing all the various solutions on this post.
Wish I could use my Gobi's though!

Well, according to the the installation instructions yours is mounted the correct direction. It's the way I mounted mine.

That's how I mounted mine , too.
And , KTM does sell bags (ok, boxes) for the 690E racks - they're Touratech boxes with a KTM sticker on them... either 35L or 41L, but not the smaller 29L.

Hello ! I'm asking this for a friend: does the SW-Motech rear rack work with the standard KTM luggage racks ?

He already has the KTM side-racks... and he is looking for a rear rack ( something he can just buy and bolt it on).

I have the SW-MOTECH top rack but not the KTM side case mounts. I see no reason the top rack will not mount atop the side case mounts at all. It mounts the same as the KTM horseshoe shaped mount. The only thing you may need are 4 of the convex washers that go between the side case mounts and the top case mounts, they come in the KTM horseshoe shaped mount but not with SW-MOTECH top rack.

Can we get a picture of that SW Motech rack? I have not seen one and did not see a pic on their web site either.

I would almost bet they do. The KTM side racks come with all the extra hardware to accommodate the rear rack. That is assuming of course that it mounts to where the grab handles do.
