i like the drz250 better in the woods, the power is way more tractable
with better low end. feels lighter in the technical east coast single track. its no two smoker, but i like the ridebility better. flatter torque curve

the drz400 is better for pulling my fat back side around on the road and ok in the woods. the 400 spins and jumps around more

on the up side with a couple washers the drz250 rear wheel works nicely on a drz400, so there will always be a bit of drz250 with me

i have an xr650 4 gallon tank with the brackets for a drz250 for sale

Just to chime in on tdrally comments on diff between the 250 and 400 as my regular riding buddy is on a 400, the 400's have a lot more power, feel bigger and bulkier when on board, also they 'carry' their weight a lot higher than the 250, thus making the 250 'feel' more nimble and easier to change direction in woods type riding........and the 250 requires less brain cells to ride - which suits me!

To those that have swapped to a 14T (or even a 15T) sprocket...did you remove the case saver, or just trim it for clearance?

I could get the 14T to fit ok with the case saver in place, but the 15T would not fit unless I removed/moded the case saver.

Where did you find the decals to fit the rear fender and side plastics? I have looked everywhere for decals for my side plastics.

Its a full sticker kit for a mid 2000's RM250, what you see stuck on the bike is what you get

Rear fender rack

Anyone know of a rear fender rack for the DRZ 250. I have seen some one was by Whipps but they are extremely over priced. Anyone done anything?

Here is a selection of images that may help or give some inspiration to either buying something similar and modify to fit or to fabricate something yourself, KLX250 rear racks looks rather similar and 'could' fit.
After all as we all know the DRZ250 doesn't have a major following of owners/after market manufacturers around the globe so a lot of it comes down to owner ingenuity
