SUCCESS!

Finally with the help of you guys I was able to get my front brake light working.

I remembered that the PO had given me a switch of some sort, dug it up yesterday and voila... this is what I was thinking of buying...

This is where the switch goes, at the front master cylinder... (these pics are mainly for the technically challenged folks like me). I was looking for a similar pic and couldn't find any.

Remove the old one and replace with the new...connect the wires...new switch installed...

The whole process took less than 10 mins and now the brake lights are working. Good thing was, the bike already had the wiring done by the PO.

And to think that this was the thing that was worrying me the most (in regards to inspection)

Thank you guys.... Now to go get this baby inspected and to do some real riding

thanks/ and another ??

Thanks TD I'm going to throw some .090 alum in the break and whip one up.

Does anyone have the suspension setup recommendations for 185 lb rider who has no idea what to do next, to calm this "rocket" down she is twitchy in the front end in a big way.

Thanks

Are the forks at the stock height setting?
Try some preload on the rear?

I used a Kuryakyn Lighted Licence plate #9167 Dennis Kirk H49023 $41.99. I wired it into the tailight.

The forks are about 5mm up in the tree, my sag is set at 3 1/2" , should i drop the front end a little to get more weight on the front tire?

Addind rear pre load would tend to slow your steeing down somewhat.
DRZ 250s are a pretty slow steering bike geometry wise. Do you have much dirt history?

i rode dirt a bit 20yrs ago and more time in sandpits on a YZ, or crashing a klr650 in the woods more recently
it seems to like the DRZ just wants to go pull out of my hands and go left or right after hitting small obstacles?

I guess if i felt confident in the "default" settings i would just say it's me and ride, but with no manual, yet. I'll guessing with the clickers, after finding the rebound on the forks backed all the way down i set every thing to halfway and have started again,

Would a larger rear (tire) effect any handling? something must have happened to the original rear tire it sure couldn't have be wear, it was replaced with a 120/90-18?

Thanks
