How much do you weigh? Where are you going to order the spring from and what rate in kg/mm?

i tip the scale at way to much right now about 270+
but i'm working on that

i think the folks i'm talking to about upgrading my suspension have numbers like
7.6 rear from 6.0 stock
.52 front from .44 stock (rm usd forks)

for me

i'm going to service the stock forks and spare shock back to near stock for wet riding
and as a loner for my 180lb stepson
i may respring to 200lb rider

That's interesting that Suzuki is still manufacturing the DR250 but not selling it in the states. I wonder why? Probably just wasn't selling here. From what I read, the states are more of a 400 to 450 for dual sport and Europe and Australia is more 250. Also, it looks like it comes out of the box street legal. Not sure if they ever did that in the states.

I'm still considering buying one for a second bike to do just trail riding.

the drz250 never came from the factory road ready to the states
but the older dr250 did in 90s

after you own a drz250 for a short while you'll just about through rocks at other bikes in its class

What shop are you thinking about using for the suspension upgrades? Where did you get the info that the fork springs are .44 rate? I thought they were .39 or .40, based on the specs for the DR250, DR350, etc. I don't think I've seen the rates published before for the fork springs.

www.sasquatchrider.com

is who i'm thinking about doing the work
he is the one with the information

racetech has information on the rear.
the number for the forks is stock for my rm usd forks

the dr250/350 are even softer than the drz250

most bike suzuki builds are sprung for a 150 pound rider

parting out drz 250

My drz went for a swim two summers ago. I have decided to not rebuild the engine. If you need any parts let me know. Wheels, shock, forks etc in good shape. It's been a hard decision.
