Nice to meet you Catalyst. I pick the bike up this afternnon from Aiken so probably want get pics till Friday. That's when I hope to do most of the breakin too. That leaves the w/e wide open for ridin. I'll be glad to meet with anyone for a ride, doesn't matter what type of terrain. Catalyst, the Abbeville loop is fine with me if you can stand a newbie. Just name a time and place to meet.

Parsons Mtn and Cedar Springs are both closed as of 10/1 due to "wet conditions".
The call before you haul hotline is 803-561-4025. Hopefully, they will reopen and update the message before the weekend.

How's it going A.A.R.S.E.'s? Haven't visited this thread in a while so I figured I'd see what was going on. Got rid of the KLR and got a new Versys, but gravel road adventures are still something I like to do. Just more comfortable on the V.

Today's Ride
Dust.
'nuf said. Just kidding. It really was dusty, but we had a great time. Buelless is a rider! Only 83 miles on his bike this morning and it's like he's been riding it his whole life. Got to check out Jman's new land too - got some great potential. Look forward to burning some stuff out there! Nice meeting Jman's pop and brother too. |

Yeah it looked pretty dusty in my rear mirror
at times I could only see only one headlight peaking out of the dust.Fellas we got a new rider in town and his name is buelless. He can ride pretty dam good. Had that little 250 hanging in with the 650's. Everytime I looked back he had it sideways coming out of the turn. . Got that bike broke in good. I think he had around 80 miles when we started.Monkee when is your next day off, we need to make a run over to heavy's hit the Ravine and the Bridge. Do some creek crossings.

What a super ride with a couple of class guys.
Catalyst - next time we gotta swap off, no fair you eating our dust all day. Jman - great job leading us, only thing that would have made it better would have been a little rain. Oh yeah, Jman, love your place in the country. When i win the lottery i'm getting me one. Hey, a pleasure meeting your brother and dad too. Really looking forward to our next ride. Can you believe it, South Carolina 35 Alabama 21 Go Gamecocks!

Appreciate the compliments but you both are pretty good yourselves. That 250 is a lot easier to wrestle around than those 650s you guys were on. I had to ring it pretty hard just to stay up.
Oh yeah, started with about 80 miles this morning and parked it with about 320. Definitely feels a lot looser. Only problem I've found was the turn signal switch on the handle bar was jamming (full of dust). Cleaned it out and it seems ok now. Probably going to continue to be a problem as it does not appear to be sealed from the elements. |
