Yeah I thinking about going back there and trying it again. Though I really need to put a rear tyre on.

2010 / 2011

So I read this post idea on another forum and thought it was pretty cool. What was your favorite ride of 2010 and what are you looking forward to in 2011?

I'll start, feel free to jump in!

2010 is easy! It started off with some great riding around Suches, GA when M&MM, Jman, Thorpe and I went up there late last winter. Staying at TWO was a lot of fun too.

The big highlight though was a trip out west with the gf and a buddy and we managed to squeeze in a day of riding in Moab.

We rode around Monitor & Merrimac in the morning and Fins & Things in the afternoon. Both were within 5 minutes of downtown and both were pretty different. M&M had a lot of sand, whoops, washes and high speed stuff with a few rocky trails thrown in whereas Fins & Things is exactly what you think of when you hear about slickrock. Straight up, straight down, technical slower stuff. Both were a blast, but I think I like the tricky stuff more.

Not sure what 2011 holds yet. I'd sure love to go explore Colorado or anywhere out West again, or take a multi-day trip around Western North Carolina or maybe Suches again.

How 'bout y'all? Got any highlights from 2010 and things to look forward to this year?

Highlights...

I guess the trip to Suches is it for me, even though it poured on Saturday, we still had a blast. We should do that again, pick a weekend in late April and make it happen!!

Speaking of next summer, I really really want to go out to CO for a week of riding the San Juans. It won't be as expensive as you might think, Let me know if you want to get a dialogue going regarding that, I've planned the whole trip in my head!!

Do you guys trailer your bikes or just ride from home when you go on a trip like Suches? Just curious about the logistics like parking your tow vehicle, camping vs hotels, etc..

We trailered the bikes up there, However a ride from here to there would be great also. We stayed in the lodge mainly because the rain. I have a route from here to Clayton with the most dirt I can find.

Really starting to sound good. How many days does the usual ride last? Any maintenance issues like air filters, tire flats, etc to plan for?
